Hwoarang heard the word that a demon had appeared in town. It was difficult to comprehend what the fight was going to be about or what it would be for, but it was easy to understand why it had to take place. To manifest the feeling, the emotion - this was going to be a long voyage inward. Realising, no matter the outcome, it would ultimately be won for the heart - the ensuing turmoil vanished suddenly, without a trace. For there will always be another sunset to look forward to.

Peter is one of the founding forces behind Salon Oblique, a Berlin based event series specialising in interdisciplinary, hybrid-format production and experimental concept execution. ‘Won For The Heart’ is his first album under the Hwoarang pseudonym.

Concieved during the first enforced lock-down period of 2020, the album is the result of some years worth of musical ideas and sketches, molded and distilled into their current forms. The electric guitar taking the main focal point in the compositions.

The project draws influence from the sounds of future RnB, downtempo and ambient, and with its psychedelic cinematic passages makes for a record that wouldn't sound out of place soundtracking a lost Hong Kong neon noir film.

All profits from this release will go to the Terre des Hommes foundation who are acting to support families both on the ground in Ukraine and those that have fled and are now in Germany.
